No, that's not Harry Potter flying on that book. It's actually an admiring nod to illustrator, James Gurney of Dinotopia fame. This mural includes the title favorites of students and staff at Taylor Parks Elementary where I taught Literacy. It also includes favorites of the district's beloved 2nd Grade teacher, Peggy Charboneau who died of cancer. Her generous donation of scads of books to my Lit Lab still feeds the hungry minds of my students. This mural was my parting gift to the school I loved.
